The mind is one of the most fascinating aspects in our lives. Try as we may, it still remains a vast and unexplored dimension. Whilst we keep on learning more and more about it, there are some aspects which can only be theorised. In the vast array of theories here is one which froms only my view to look at the strongest aspects of the mind which is “The Intellect”.
The mind has three major portions. The first is the common sense which is mainly about the application of proper logic and appropriate responses/reactions to situations. The second is the “Intelligence” which comprises of our ability to use our factual knowledge which we gain by experiences, reading, learning and also cognition and putting it to constructive use.
The third one is “The Intellect”. This is something which is not easily understandable. The intellect is something which can explain the non-existent, predict the inevitable, and if provided, can lead one to great heights or to the lowest depths without our own knowledge. Many a time, we wonder what makes us so special from other animals in this world. There are those who say that “the intellect is something which is present only in man and no other creature in the world”. And one more reason given by many pertaining to the difference between the humans and the animals is the power of effective communication.
Actually I disagree with that. All animals have a way of communicating, though we may not understand what they say but there can be no dispute about the fact that they communicate. I believe it has been proven scientifically that they communicate. And it is also false that animals lack intellect. Without intellect they would’ve never had anything called survival skills. A main reason I believe they are still in such a state because of the need for survival being above everything else. Whilst it remains the truth that the human intellect has exceeded other creatures on this planet, there can be no room for doubt that animals too have an intellect. Everything in this world cannot be learned from other species.
